8th Graders-Wow! What an exhaustingly fun Disney Trip! Thanks to our fearless chaperones Mr. Parker & Ms. Sorrells for navigating the parks with our groups and letting me tag along with them when I wan't pulled away for other things. All new this year, parent travel coordinators! Thanks to Ms. Hulsey for coordinating a park itinerary and fast passes for her daughter's chaperone group from her computer at home (in my opinion, the app can be kind of cumbersome). I'd never seen this type of coordination between the parks and home, but it truly seemed to work seamlessly!
I have everyone's workshop ears! Stop by at 8:50 to pick yours up. Remember that you can wear your Disney hats, ears, etc... for our Tuesday night concert.
Tuesday, we have 2 performances - one for opening ceremonies of the Daniell Olympics and one in the evening for parents. please see the concert reminder for timing details and dress for both performances.

7th & 8th Graders - I will be collecting locks from you this week. If you have lost your lock you need to come in between 8:50-9 am and work your combo on the locks in the "lost lock bucket." A few students have done this already and have found their lock! If you do not locate your lock, you will need to pay $5 for a replacement lock. Place $5 in a school money envelope and write "band lock" on the payment line.
7th Graders - Fun concert Tuesday night! Congratulations on a successful end of the year performance!
6th Graders - Concert Bb scale post test grades will be entered soon. If you have not completed your test, you will receive a zero. Students have been given opportunities for the past 2 weeks during class to complete the post test. I have not had the opportunity to enter a single one of these grades yet but I will work to have these entered within a week's time.
6th & 7th Graders
Many of you and your parents have been asking whether or not you can check out your school owned instrument over the summer. Yes, you do have that option. In an effort to help me keep track of who is interested in this, please click on the link below to compete a short form. (even if you or your parent has already emailed me about this, please complete the form!)

I aim to distribute the summer school owned instrument forms during the Week of May 14. Please be patient with me - last week was a VERY BUSY one - Tuesday night 7th Grade Concert at KSU & the 8th Grade Disney Trip Wednesday - Saturday. Sunday is Mother's Day & I am spending it with my college aged daughter who's coming home this weekend! I will get you the forms sometime this week provided you complete the form. If you don't complete the form at the link above, you will not receive a summer school owned instrument check out form.
Lastly, please check out this wonderful summer camp opportunity. Great directors and teachers to give your students a fun summer band experience! I have been honored to serve as the camp's flute instructor for many years and this affords me the opportunity to witness kids having a great time making music together, being social in non-musical activities, building bonds with students from other schools, and receiving instruction from and building bonds with directors from other schools. This is not a sleep away camp, but is definitely a top-notch day camp offering. http://www.cobbcountysummerbandcamp.org/
